The prosopoppoeia in which he gives speech to his ommelet on a heroico-comical tone ("Je suis ton déjeuner fidèle, viens, je t’attends, viens je t’appelle !" – Gluck’s Orphée aux Enfers is not far : "C’est ton époux fidèle, / Entends ma voix qui t’appelle !") is a model of humorous musical interpretation.
